That can be tricky to judge in unfamiliar contemporary works, but any doubts are swept aside in a sublime account of Mozart’s Divertimento in E flat. At forty-five minutes in length, the Mozart dominates proceedings, but the Fokkens and Joseph works are far more than a lively upbeat to the Viennese masterpiece; rather, they are complementary sides of the same string-trio coin and excellently produced.
